Abstract

This research is focusing in media content analysis. There are two main power that able to influence media independency. The influence directly or not will guide the media attitude in making news of Century Gate. The first power come from internal media include the journalist and media organization for their own business. Second, from external media such as government, community, culture, capital, that use media for their own need. This research aim to investigate the independency of media in Century Gate news.
This research using Agenda Setting Model by Maxwell Mc Comb and Donald L Shaw 1973, and Organizing Media Theory. The theory show that media do not always able to push audience for thinking something relating with the agenda of media. In other hand Organizing Media Theory talk about gate keeper, mechanism process and news presenting.
The result show that Daily Kompas have higher objectivity degree than others media in presenting news relating with Century Gate.
