Background:

Data at WHO shows increasing incidence of tuberculosis (TB) in Indonesia, particularlyextra-pulmonary TB. Diagnosingthis casequickly and appropriately help reduce the morbidity and mortalityof patients. This case talked about the role of clinical microbiologyin the enforcement of osteoarthritia cases of TB.

Case Report:

A 32-year-old woman admitted to hospital because of swelling in the left knee. There is a history of failed treatment of tuberculosis and patient had contact with a positive TB patients. Chest X-rayshowed scoliosis and infiltrate in perihiler, while X-rays Genushowed a hint ot arthritis of the left genu. The results of themicrobiological examination of acid-fast bacilli (AFB) found inperfomed granuloma tissue taken during operation. Th Item Type:
